Andrea Scippe
“Working with found materials has allowed me to see objects not just as utilitarian, but as carriers of history and memory. Each object I recover becomes a "treasure" with its own potential narrative.”
— EXCERPT FROM INTERVIEW (28.01.25)
Andrea Scippe is a Franco-Italian visual artist based in Paris. Her work is shaped by her surrounding environment and a genuine appreciation for the simple pleasures of daily life.
Drawn to observing nature from an early age, she applies this curiosity about the world to her art practice, exploring how we interact with our environment.
Often using found material, her work creates a dialogue where each element speaks to the other, uncovering the memories contained within everyday objects. Since obtaining her Master’s degree from École nationale supérieure d’art de Paris-Cergy in 2022, she has spent her time participating in artist residencies across Europe, immersing herself in these new places.
While her work is informed by ongoing questions of individuality, collective memory, and preservation, she also embraces chance encounters, allowing her surroundings to guide her practice. This openness nurtures her continuous exploration of the world and her curiosity about who and what awaits her in the next land.
